Suggestions for a nice breakfast place in the French Quarter?
dan7676 asked:
I'm looking for a good place for breakfast in the French Quarter, other than Cafe' du Monde, Brennan's, and Cafe Beignet (already been there). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Brennans, but be prepared to spend at least a hundred $'s
This place is very good but SLOW and expect a wait.
Petunia's Restaurant
817 Saint Louis St , New Orleans , LA , 70112-3415
Open for breakfast and lunch only, this local favorite serves crepes, egg dishes, pancakes and waffles as well as the popular crawfish etouffee omelet.
For something faster I enjoy
Cafe Fleur-De-Lis
307 Charles St., New Orleans, LA
The Clover Grill is fun too
900 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70116-3121
If you want to wander uptown I like
Bluebird Cafe
3625 Prytania St , New Orleans , LA , 70115-3610
A tempting low-priced menu combining innovative breakfast and lunch dishes with Flintstone-like portions.
Blue Plate Cafe
1330 Prytania St.
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 309-9500
Or if you want to wander to the Biwater area this place is very good.
Elizabeth's
601 Gallier St , New Orleans , LA , 70117-6217
Homey joint that delivers on its promise of "good food done real good."
Petunias! They are fantastic. They have meal crepes and fuit crepes and great egg dishes.
I like Court of Two Sisters for brunch. It is a buffet and if you go at the right time a small sandwich will do for dinner! They have all kinds of creole food to sample and if u want you can have eggs benedict or an omlette too. My personal favorites are the Bannanas and Cream and an omlette made with shrimp… ok, maybe the eggs benedict too. This place is pricey but totally woth it.
I live in Louisiana, when i go to NO i always go to
The Blue Bird Cafe
3625 Prytania St
New Orleans , LA 70115
(504) 895-7166
I don't think that it is in the French Quarter but it is delicious! The best waffles ever!!!!!!
Petunia's, or Court of Two Sisters in the quarter. Or if you just want lots of good food- Mother's in the CBD- walking distance from the quarter. Or Johnny's Po'Boys for traditional fare like catfish breakfast.
The other answers have good suggestions, though some of the restaurants are outside the FQ. Note that Brennan's is wildly expensive for breakfast.
Croissant D'Or is at 615 Ursulines Street and has great pastries (they don't do an American breakfast).
Buffa's Restaurant (corner of Esplanade Avenue and Burgundy Street) does a good, inexpensive American breakfast.
The Clover Grill (800 block of Bourbon Street) is a classic diner..
ooh traveler is so right! venture outside of the quarter! i love Elizabeth's!
I have been to cafe' du Monde.
It's on the water. Fair service, Good coffee and baggets!
It's good to try. Crowded though.
Petunia's
Great food.
